Physiotherapy
From assessment to treatment, you will receive a diagnosis of your injury, an individualized treatment plan, and manual, hands-on exercises and education. All of our physiotherapists have extensive training and skill in manual therapy techniques. These varied techniques aim to provide the most effective and efficient way to promote health and recovery from an injury. Following the manual treatment, the therapist will discuss ways to manage your injury and the follow-up plan and provide the appropriate home exercises.
Physiotherapy + Dry Needling / IMS
ππ₯π¬ π‘ππππππ‘π - A needle without medication or used for injection is inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle at the trigger points or the taut band of skeletal muscle located within a larger muscle group. This procedure is primarily directed at trigger points causing myofascial pain. Doing this releases muscle tightness naturally.
ππ π¦ - ππ‘π§π₯ππ π¨π¦ππ¨πππ₯ π¦π§ππ π¨πππ§ππ’π‘ - Shortening of muscles or tendons across a joint as a result of an injury can lead to excessive wear and tear on the joints causing early osteoarthritis. This can also lead to conditions such as tendonitis. Combined with physiotherapy, Easthill Physiotherapy & Acupuncture provides pain relief through a technique called Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). IMS is an effective treatment with very few side effects. This needling technique relieves muscle tension, stimulates healing, and promotes normal joint mechanics.
Physiotherapy + Acupuncture
πππ¨π£π¨π‘ππ§π¨π₯π - At Easthill Physiotherapy, we follow Chinese medicine and an Anatomical approach to acupuncture. Our acupuncture method stimulates the body to produce endorphins, natural pain-relieving chemicals. The improved energy and biochemical balance stimulate the bodyβs natural healing abilities, reduce inflammation, and promote physical health.
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
The pelvic floor is a significant group of muscles that attach from the pubic bone to the tailbone. Their function is essential to supporting our pelvic organs, like the bladder and uterus. Additionally, these muscles are crucial to our core stability.
Various issues can occur when these muscles are too tight, lengthened, imbalanced or weak, causing symptoms such as incontinence, pain, IBS, sexual dysfunction, and more. Additionally, a weak pelvic floor often is the culprit behind the back, hip or other joint pain.
Physiotherapy for pelvic health conditions aims to correct and strengthen pelvic floor muscles and improve their function with education, exercises, and manual physiotherapy treatments.
The good thing is that most conditions respond well to physiotherapy and can be managed, and with education and individualized strategies, you can get your pelvic floor working again.
Concussion Management Physiotherapy
Easthill Physiotherapy is a certified concussion management clinic through the Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI) organization.
Itβs not just high-risk activities or sports that cause concussions. Everyday life can unexpectedly catch you with a head injury causing a concussion, disrupting your way of living and happiness. Our therapists are specially trained to help you recover quickly.
Our goal is to make the recovery process simple, straightforward, and timely so you can focus on getting better in the fastest, safest, and most complete way possible.
ππ‘-ππππ‘ππ π£π₯π-ππ’π‘ππ¨π¦π¦ππ’π‘ πππ¦ππππ‘π π§ππ¦π§ππ‘π - This is recommended for those involved in high-risk sports (including recreational, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and team sports). Children should have this updated at least once a year, while adults can go a bit longer between tests.
π§πππ π£π₯π-ππ’π‘ππ¨π¦π¦ππ’π‘ πππ¦ππππ‘π π§ππ¦π§ππ‘π - We invite all coaches, trainers and teachers to contact us if they would like to book a Team Baseline Testing appointment or would like help setting up the DANA app for team access or if theyβd like to take a FREE sideline course (with our community access code).
Vestibular Physiotherapy
π©ππ₯π§πππ’ ππ‘π ππππππ‘ππ¦π¦ - People with vestibular or inner ear disorders often experience problems with balance and position or movement-related dizziness. This can impact a personβs ability to change positions (such as lying down) or move about without imbalance and vertigo. Even moderate dizziness may be debilitating enough to diminish the quality of life, reduce employability, and complicate all aspects of life. The result can be economical and social devastation.
There are often secondary symptoms associated, as well, further reducing activity levels. Secondary symptoms may include decreased strength, loss of range of motion, and increased tension (particularly in the cervical and shoulder region), leading to muscle fatigue and headaches.
Our clinic and physiotherapists use a specialized form of therapy for vestibular rehabilitation designed to alleviate both primary and secondary symptoms of vestibular disorders.
Neurological Physiotherapy
Neurological rehabilitation is about helping people live with lifelong conditions that may have started at birth or that onset with age, such as Parkinsonβs Disease or MS. Our rehabilitation services also include programs for spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries that help you manage and improve the quality of your life.
We donβt see it just as rehab, though. We see it as helping people live as normally as possible with any condition. And not just for adults, either. Our services and experience include helping children, too.
We are the only physiotherapy clinic in the Vernon area offering neurological physiotherapy for all ages. Our physiotherapists have particular interest and training in traumatic brain injury, MS, Parkinsonβs, cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injury and many other neurological conditions.
Additionally, we offer management, education, and treatment with pediatric populations such as torticollis and plagiocephaly. Any neurological consult with us includes a detailed assessment, patient-specific treatment plan, hands-on treatment and individual goal setting.
Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapists are one of the 26 regulated health professions in BC. They have the highest training standards for massage therapists in North America and are trained to treat the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
Throughout the treatment, the massage therapist will check in with you to ensure you are comfortable. If anything is too uncomfortable or painful, make sure to let them know.
Your therapist is there to help you and welcomes any questions about your condition or the treatment they are providing.
