This can also lead to conditions such as tendonitis. Combined with physiotherapy, Easthill Physiotherapy & Acupuncture provides pain relief through a technique called Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS). IMS is an effective treatment with very few side effects. This needling technique relieves muscle tension, stimulates healing, and promotes normal joint mechanics.

The pelvic floor is a significant group of muscles that attach from the pubic bone to the tailbone. Their function is essential to supporting our pelvic organs, like the bladder and uterus. Additionally, these muscles are crucial to our core stability.

Various issues can occur when these muscles are too tight, lengthened, imbalanced or weak, causing symptoms such as incontinence, pain, IBS, sexual dysfunction, and more. Additionally, a weak pelvic floor often is the culprit behind the back, hip or other joint pain.

Physiotherapy for pelvic health conditions aims to correct and strengthen pelvic floor muscles and improve their function with education, exercises, and manual physiotherapy treatments.

The good thing is that most conditions respond well to physiotherapy and can be managed, and with education and individualized strategies, you can get your pelvic floor working again.

This can impact a person’s ability to change positions (such as lying down) or move about without imbalance and vertigo. Even moderate dizziness may be debilitating enough to diminish the quality of life, reduce employability, and complicate all aspects of life. The result can be economical and social devastation.

There are often secondary symptoms associated, as well, further reducing activity levels. Secondary symptoms may include decreased strength, loss of range of motion, and increased tension (particularly in the cervical and shoulder region), leading to muscle fatigue and headaches.

Our clinic and physiotherapists use a specialized form of therapy for vestibular rehabilitation designed to alleviate both primary and secondary symptoms of vestibular disorders.

Our rehabilitation services also include programs for spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries that help you manage and improve the quality of your life.

We don’t see it just as rehab, though. We see it as helping people live as normally as possible with any condition. And not just for adults, either. Our services and experience include helping children, too.

We are the only physiotherapy clinic in the Vernon area offering neurological physiotherapy for all ages. Our physiotherapists have particular interest and training in traumatic brain injury, MS, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injury and many other neurological conditions.

Additionally, we offer management, education, and treatment with pediatric populations such as torticollis and plagiocephaly. Any neurological consult with us includes a detailed assessment, patient-specific treatment plan, hands-on treatment and individual goal setting.

Hannah is a true Vernon local and, except leaving for her master’s of physiotherapy degree at the University of Alberta, has lived here her whole life.

Hannah may be the most genuine, caring and empathetic person you have ever met. Combine that with an excellent skill set of physiotherapy techniques and a high level of training, and you can understand why her patients speak so highly of her.

Some interesting facts about Hannah are that she has a huge soft spot for dogs of all shapes and sizes. She can’t resist a good reality TV show she enjoys watching while eating some of her fine baking (mini cheesecakes and cookies are her go-tos). She’s also learning to sew and is perfecting her dog bandanas before moving on to more challenging patterns.

Hannah also has an athletic side and grew up playing competitive soccer and figure skating. With her knowledge, she became a soccer and figure skating coach. She also helped with the Special Olympics coaching track and field and figure skating, which she loved!

Lately, Hannah has settled on golf, snowboarding, paddle boarding and the gym to keep herself physically and mentally healthy.
